mighty to save

We sang a song in our youth service tonight called “Mighty to Save”. It’s by Hillsong United and it’s a great declaration of God’s ability to redeem and restore. Restoration has been on my mind a lot recently. I’m not sure if it’s because David Crowder Band’s new album, Remedy focuses on this theme, or if the thoughts came before that. Either way, I’ve been thinking about a lot about how God can repair damaged lives when all hope seems lost.

I think what’s beautiful about this is that it puts all of us on the same playing field. Since we’re all horribly broken and defeated people, there’s no partiality when God comes in and offers redemption. He simply provides it for everyone.

Here’s the whole song:

Mighty To Save
Everyone needs compassion
Love that’s never failing
Let mercy fall on me
Everyone needs forgiveness
The kindness of a Saviour
The hope of nations

Saviour
He can move the mountains
My God is mighty to save
He is mighty to save
Forever
Author of salvation
He rose and conquered the grave
Jesus conquered the grave

So take me as You find me
All my fears and failures
Fill my life again
I give my life to follow
Everything I believe in
Now I surrender

Shine Your light and let the whole world see
We’re singing
For the glory of the risen King

  1. Love that song! It’s a declaration of the greatness of God to save, deliver and set free anyone who come to Him! Thank God for His grace…where would we be without it
