Tonight I spoke from 1 Peter 1:3-5 in youth group. In this passage, Peter reminds his readers that they have a living hope. I love that phrase. We don’t have a hope that is dead or a hope in something that is dead. Instead, because Jesus has redeemed us, we have hope in One who not only is alive, but conquered death as well.
As a new creation in the image of God, we have the privilege of an inheritance that will not perish, spoil, or fade. It’s not going anywhere and it won’t become obsolete with another revision. God’s acceptance of His people will endure. And He will protect us and that inheritance until our salvation is one day made complete.
