fracture

Parker fell the other day and complained that he hurt his wrist. Bethany and I didn’t think much of it until the evening when he mentioned it again. It’s not out of character for him to rehash “ouchies”, so we thought he was just trying to avoid going to bed.

Today Parker went bowling with his preschool class. While cheering for one of his classmates, Parker fell again on the same wrist and it became apparent that something was wrong. Bethany brought him to the doctor, who sent them to get x-rays. Sure enough, he has a hairline fracture in his left wrist.

Now Parker has to wear a splint and an ace bandage for the next four weeks.

A three year old keeping his arm still for that long?

I’ll give it until tomorrow around lunchtime.
