Tonight I challenged the students to make commitments for themselves for 2008. I encouraged them to make two copies: one to bring home and one they sealed in an envelope for me to mail to them halfway through the year.
I think it’s important to stop and evaluate our lives. When we’re honest, we’ll all find areas that need some refinement (and some spots that need a complete overhaul).
Here’s a few of my commitments for the New Year:
- Grow in my daily prayer time (quality and quantity).
- Read my Bible everyday (the last couple months have been rough for my devotions).
- Read at least one book a month (I’ve had this as a resolution for several years, but have yet to accomplish it).
- Get in shape (I may be skinny, but after one game of dodgeball with the students, I’m about ready to pass out).
