Tonight my “best friend” (do adults have those?) Jamie came and spoke to our church about his call to be a missionary to Indonesia. Jamie has been a close friend, encourager, accountability partner and support over the years. I’m excited for what God is doing in him and in his wife and how they are pursuing God’s call to go.
One of the challenges he made was that we needed to dream about what God wants to do in and through us.
I tend to get stuck in the moment. I can easily focus on the regular daily routine of life and lose sight of the “big picture”. This isn’t to say I don’t think ahead. But I mean that my day to day life can rob me of taking the time to dream big and think God-sized thoughts. Tonight I was reminded of the need to step back and dream about the future. To not let my mind rationalize the “how”, but to simply let God speak to me about what He wants to do (whether it seems feasible or not).
Anyway, here’s a copy of the video he showed at the end of his message.
