I spent most of my day today with our volunteer youth workers. We attended the Core training put on by Youth Specialties. My wife already wrote a post bragging about them, but I’ve got to say that I’m so appreciative of these dedicated workers who invest so much time and energy into our students.
After the training, we headed over to Caribou Coffee to discuss the training and evaluate our Winter Retreat. I figured that they’d be tired or anxious to go home after spending most of the day in sessions. Instead, I found a group of people eager to discuss ways to reach out to visitors and better connect our regular attenders. Maybe it was the coffee kicking in fast, but I think it was more likely their passion for students coming through.
It’s great to know that I’m surrounded by a team of leaders who are committed to seeing students connect to God and to each other. The youth ministry at Stone Church wouldn’t be what it is without them.
