Tonight I checked out the Amazon mp3 Store for the first time. I’m sorry iTunes, but once I use up the $7:14 of gifts cards I have left, I’ll be switching over. Amazon offers DRM free music (no restrictions on how you use it) comes at 256 kbps instead of iTunes’ standard 128 kbps mp3s. In other words, better sound quality and more flexibility.
Except for the mildly annoying downloader program you need to install, the transaction went smoothly.
Apparently, Amazon offers several new(er) albums each Friday for $5. So do yourself a favor and check it out.
