bulletin

I’ve been working on a redesign for our church bulletin for the past week and a half. This is what we’ve come up with. I’d appreciate any of your thoughts/comments/suggestions.

Looks great P Erik! Although the building is blocked by those blue squares….Seriously though, it looks professional and updated!
You are having family night on Wed nights?? Sounds like fun!

“Family Night” is our generic term for all the activities that occur on Wednesdays (i.e. “something for the whole family”).

thanks for the feedback. i’m just waiting for bethany to chime in…

I wasn’t going toooooo! We’ve already discussed this issue! Random squares confuse me.

I dig the design. Great work. That said, I’m not a fan of the blue, but if it’s the church “color”, then go with it. Also, the bottom of the front seems too spacey – to empty. Maybe include the URL on the front too? Also, I’m not crazy about the font. It’s ok, but I think you could afford to be a bit more progressive. :)

    Good work, seriously!

    Great Design
However I think the blue is a little much, maybe lighten the color & enhance the Fonts on the bottom of the front.

I agree with Elgin about the space at the bottom. The blue doesn’t bug me though. On the left hand one (backside methinks) you might try to float some of the verbiage at the bottom to the left and right squares as well, they seem kinda empty with all the other squares being full…just a thought. Over all I think that it looks nice and clean.

    thanks for the feedback.

blue is one of our church colors (i do happen to like it!).

also, the font is really one of the things i’m still unsure of. i’ve played around with several different ones, but this is the one that’s stuck so far.

i played around w/ the spaces on the bottom of the back, but i’m not sure how to separate the address in a way that makes sense. plus each time i do, i gets more busy and i’m trying to keep it as clean as possible. i’ll give it some thought.

for those of you from stone, i’d appreciate further input once you’ve seen it on paper. we haven’t sent it to a professional printer yet, but we’ll be using this version on sunday.

thanks again, you’re comments are very helpful.

    erik.
submit this to flickr and then add to the “church marketing sucks” group.

you’ll get tons of great feedback from those peeps in the group.

    from design peeps.
    instead of random people.
